News, Reviews and Information on iRobot Scooba

PreOrder on iRobotStore

Thanks to Ted for pointing out that the Scooba is available for preorder on the official iRobot Store.

In big bold red letters it states “Allow 8-10 weeks for delivery”, so don’t expect on getting it any time soon :)

A quick search on Amazon.com and nothing about the Scooba comes up. It’s understandable that the official store gets this exclusive preorder, but I expect soon some of the other big retailers will be offering it.

  1. The email I got said free shipping on the preorder- but that didn’t happen on the site. I’ll pester their customer service if they charge me for it when it ships.. and I’ll probably cancel the order through irobot and place it with Amazon if they have it available before irobot ships.

  2. Also, things from the FAQ.

    * won’t ship in time for the holidays- should be drop shipped Jan 06.
    * uses 2 ounces of cleaning fluid per cycle- so about 1oz per 100 sq ft. Ships with an 8-oz bottle.
    * ships with a remote.

  3. Hi, I work at iRobot and we are all very pleased with the quality and content of this site. It feels great to be making robots that people really like.

    Nice catch Ted. There is no Scooba remote and we have fixed our FAQ’s accordingly. See, even robots make mistakes.

    We are excited about getting Scooba out as soon as possible.

  4. If the scooba doesnt have a remote, how can you direct it to go behind furniture in a straight line? Is it able to do this on its own?
    Also- do you have to use the chlorox or can it just use water?
    Last question- can it vacuum without cleaning solution in or does it have to clean every time it vacuums? Thanks
